5-star Los Alamitos WR Makai Lemon commits to USC

USC landed its third five-star prospect in four days on Friday as 2023 Los Alamitos wide receiver Makai Lemon committed to the Trojans.

Lemon announced his decision on Twitter, putting simply, “This is home.”

The 6-foot, 180-pound Lemon is the No. 27 prospect nationally in the 2023 class, per 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. As a junior, Lemon caught 65 passes for 1,062 yards and 15 touchdowns, both career highs.

Lemon was one of several prospects that de-committed from Oklahoma following the news that head coach Lincoln Riley was leaving Norman for the same position at USC. And he is the third of those recruits to commit to USC this week, joining 2022 Mater Dei RB Raleek Brown and 2023 Los Alamitos QB Malachi Nelson.

Lemon and Nelson visited USC on Wednesday, checking out the Coliseum and taking in practice as the Trojans prepared to face Cal on Saturday.
