Geoffrey Paschel was a controversial castmate on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days during its fourth season.
In October of last year, Geoffrey was convicted of assaulting and kidnapping his former fiancée.
On Thursday of this week, the 44-year-old was given an 18-year prison sentence.
“Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen‘s Domestic Violence Unit obtained an eighteen-year sentence against a defendant who assaulted his fiancée and refused to let her leave her residence,” said a statement from Knox County.
“Geoffrey Ian Paschel, 44, was convicted of Aggravated Kidnapping, Domestic Assault, and Interference with Emergency Calls,” it went on. “Judge Kyle Hixson ordered Paschel to serve eighteen years in prison without the possibility of parole.”
“With the sentence in this case, no other victims will be abused by this offender for a long time,” wrote Charme.
In June 2019, Geoffrey allegedly assaulted the victim in a domestic disturbance in Knoxville. “Paschel grabbed the victim by the neck and slammed her head against the wall several times. She was also thrown to the ground and dragged. Paschel took the victim’s cell phone and did not allow her to leave the residence,” said a previous statement.
The victim fled to the house of a neighbor once Geoffrey was asleep.
At the time, authorities noticed a large bruise on the victim’s head and more bruising/abrasions on her back, arms and lips. She also suffered a concussion.
During the trial, Geoffrey claimed the victim’s wounds were self-inflicted. The jury, however, voted to convict him.
