Saweetie rocks a bikini top and biker shorts for SURPRISE street performance on Santa Monica Pier

Fresh off her hit song Best Friend with Doja Cat, rapper Saweetie is now in full promo mode for her new single Fast (Motion).

With most concerts on hold in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bay Area hitmaker decided to head south to Los Angeles for a surprise street performance on the Santa Monica Pier on Friday.

Standing atop a small wooden riser just feet above the Pacific Ocean, it didn’t take long before a crowd gathered around Saweetie, who titillated fans with her vocal skills and skimpy ensemble.

Promo mode: Saweetie, 27, gathered the attention of locals and tourists at the Santa Monica Pier with a surprise performance on Friday in promotion of her new single, Fast (Motion)

Dressed in a hot pink bikini top and matching biker shorts, Saweetie (born Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper) took center stage, performing at least two songs: My Type and Fast (Motion). 

In keeping with the look, she also donned baby blue sneakers and had her dyed blonde tresses pulled into a loose bun.

For the performance, Saweetie pretended to be an up-and-coming artist looking to make ends meet by placing a small container that read ‘Pretty B**ch Summer Donation’ on the ground next to her.

Gather round! It didn’t take long before a crowd gathered to watch the California native rap along to her songs My Type and Fast (Motion), which included plenty of fan participation

Afterwards, the entertainer took to Instagram and shared a clip of her rapping along to her 2019 track, My Type, which included plenty of crowd participation.

On Saturday, Saweetie kept up the promotional push by hosting a question-and-answer session in the comments section of her music video for Fast (Motion) on YouTube, which dropped on the same day of the surprise street show.

Fast (Motion) is the fourth single from her upcoming debut studio album, Pretty B**ch Music.

The first single, Tap In, was released in June 2020 and would go on to reach number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

That was followed by Back To The Streets featuring Jhené Aiko, which debuted at number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100, and later peaked at number 58.

The third single, Best Friend featuring Doja Cat, would reach as high as number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100.  

Saweetie first gained attention by posting short raps on her Instagram page in 2016. One video featured her rapping over the beat from Khia’s – My Neck, My Back (Lick It), which would eventually turn into Icy Grl.
